Caleb: Hey, you want to lose some money with me?
Tom: You bet your bottom dollar I do.
Caleb: Ok, I’m thinking a sneaky tenner on a five leg multi, two legs being your choice and the other two mine. The final one can be a little spicey.
You first?
Tom: Easy start. Montrezl Harrell for 10+ rebounds which is paying $2 against Illawarra Hawks.
This is a balanced bet in terms of safety and risk. Harrell is averaging 9 rebounds over Adelaide's first two games, racking up 13 boards in the season opener. He's more than capable of collecting 10 or more on any given night. Given his 5 board performance last week against Cairns, I reckon he'll be hungry for more against the Hawks this Saturday. We had a little taster last night against South East Melbourne on just how hungry he is.
What's your next leg?
Caleb: My first pick is Jaylen Adams going 20+ against the Brisbane Bullets which is paying at $1.71. I’m liking the Kings against the Bullets (who isn’t) and Adams is coming off averaging 26ppg in wins. He came up with a dud against Illawarra where he didn’t even crack double digits, so will be looking to make up for it.
Brisbanes guards aren't stopping much. Starting point guards are averaging 25ppg and it’s not looking like that’ll change anytime soon.
Multi currently sits at $3.08.
Tom: No worries, going off a great suggestion from SportsBet, I'm going to lock in Keanu Pinder to score 15+ against Melbourne United at $2.15.
According to the betting site, Pinder has achieved over 15 points in seven of the previous eight matchups against Melbourne. Ironically he's also averaging 15 points to start this season.
I believe in Keanu.
Multi sitting at $5.23.
Caleb: Betting on the Pinder ‘Redemption Game’ hey. The dude was honking against Sydney on the weekend, he only managed 10mins last week scoring just a point.
I'm going to stick with Sydney vs Brisbane and chuck in Bullets centre Tyler Harrison going for a double-double priced at $3.15. He’s averaging 12.5ppg and 7.5rpg. Kings are small and he’s been the bright spot so far for Brissy.
I know people have been calling for more game time for Rocco, but I’m betting it won’t be at the expense of Harrison’s own minutes.
Tom: You know I like to roll the dice.
I agree with you on Harrison's game minutes not being affected, but I gotta say that I'd bet more court time for Rocco would lead to less time and fewer opportunities for Harrison with the ball.
But you've ceased to fail me yet with your takes, I'll roll with it.
So what's the crack with the spicy leg? Are we cranking the heat up California Reaper style with a $10 leg?
Caleb: F**K me, I said spicy but…
What’re you thinking?
Tom: Alright alright let's simmer it down a bit.
How does a $4 - $5 leg sound?
Caleb: Nah I’m intrigued, hit me with the spice.
Tom: One simple philosophy I carry when punting...
The most outlandish leg always wins.
Kristian Doolittle of the Perth Wildcats to record 14 or more rebounds Sunday afternoon which sits at exactly $10. He is currently the league's 2nd top rebounder averaging 10.5 boards, unfortunately trailing the league leader teammate Dylan Windler, which doesn't bode well for us. But he did collect 13 rebounds in the season opener.
The chance is slight, but it's there. Thoughts on Doolittle?
Tom: We're looking at a $183 return on this so far.
Caleb: How much have you won on this philosophy?
Yeah, he did get 13 rebounds last week against Sydney didn't he.
They are going up against Melbourne’s big man rotation of Rob Loe, Marcus Lee and Jack White though.
By the way, how is it paying $4.16 for him to get 12+ boards, but bumps all the way to $10 for 14+?
Damn, I’m thinking.
Caleb: Lets do it.
